Funny thing about history repeating itself. I can remember back in the 1970s. First, gas prices went through the roof, then the economy tanked and the housing market went down the tubes -- just like now.
Then, just like now, the Swine Flu appeared and there was panic. Flu shots became available and they gave you a T-shirt if you were injected. A good many of those people died with their T-shirts on -- not from the Flu, but from the vaccine!
And don't forget, back then, we were still under the threat of those nasty "Killer Bees." Also a no-show. But I hear they're still "on their way."
Anyway... I knew a lot of people back then and none of them got the S.Flu, nor did any of them know anyone that did.
I'm still trying to figure out the scenario of the economy/flu thing.
And why do all the talking heads on the 'scare box' keep trying to frighten us with phony concerns?
But just be cautious: (it can't hurt)
1. Don't touch public door handles -- open with your foot or elbow. That goes for hand rails too.
2. Keep your hands out of your mouth, eyes and ears.
3. Drink lots of water.
4. Wash your hands more often.
And, Pass the sweet and sour pork please.
