Saving fuel with car-SUV Aero-Kits

I recently bought a Hyundai Tuscon and discovered that the 26-mpg milage that I expected, actually is much worse. More like 16-18, and worse at freeway speeds (70-75) with the A/C on. I can only imagine how bad a mid- or full-size SUV guzzles gas, as my little Hyundai is about the smallest SUV available and has a 4-cylinder motor.

I've been doing some research and found out that by adding some race-car-type aero devices my milage will impove by at least 20%. Trouble is that I'll have to create these parts myself. More later.

Tattoos, piercings and bondage

A friend of mine sent me a link to a bondage Blog that had a rather "humorous" video. I didn't think it was that funny, but I understood why she thought it was. It was dark humor at best. And, I still wonder why she was on this particular site -- hmmm.. I looked around the site and even went to some links to free video trailers, and I must say that I was shocked, amused and embarrassingly entertained. And, they were wide-screen, high def, Blue Ray-type media, for FREE! I guess if you want to see the entire video you must pay for a subscription. These short trailers where enough for me to get the idea.

Actually if you're going to watch people being tied up, spanked, whipped and sexually molested, it's probably healthier than watching a "splatter film" where people, usually young girls, are being hacked up, tortured and killed in a movie. I worry about people who take pleasure in watching this film noir. At least you know that the recipient of the sexual abuse in a bondage video is getting off on it, and enjoying it to the point of orgasm -- make that orgasms. As a matter of fact each "submissive" girl is interviewed after her molestation and talks while grinning about how much fun she had.

Back to the subject at hand. While watching this series of videos I noticed that almost all the girls who enjoy this pain and volunteered to partake in these videos had tattoos -- more than one tattoo and of course, piercings. Could it be that before these gals discovered these people that will abuse them for free (or pay them), they were actually forking over big bucks to some "tattoo artist" to inflict some pain and humiliation whenever they felt they needed some abuse? Most of these websites are "timeline" blogs, and I went back months and even years following the same girls who showed up for these photo opps of pain and sexual abuse. I noticed that these girls had not had any new tattoos since they discovered these bondage sites. I'm a stickler for detail.

Anyway, the whole thing, though shocking, seems harmless enough. You just have to wonder what kind of home environment these girls came from to where they take pleasure in this kind of abuse?
So if you see a girl with too many tattoos or piercings, they could be at the bottom of the "self worth" scale and would probably like to be spanked and molested by the right man or woman. And afterward, told of the internet abusers that will inflict the pain they desire while actually paying them for it -- Making it possible for them to get their pain-on, and getting a part-time job too.

Here's an example of the free bondage trailer. Click the little arrow to crank it up. (WARNING: not for the timid)... Click

Walking, running, whatever and the lawn show

It's getting hot so it's best to exercise in the mornings as we did today at about seven.

I've charted out a three-mile walk/run/whatever through our hilly desert neighborhood. In the A.M. most yards are being watered by their timers. As we move down the streets we see that the yards are all landscaped and being blasted with water as if we are nowhere near the desert. Each yard has neatly trimmed grass that sits up on its own roots and stops abruptly at any concrete, brick or tile like a tiny, tidy wall. Quite unnatural, but somehow pleasing.

I get the idea that the residents don't really give a hoot about growing and nurturing plants, mainly because no matter what time of the day I do the walk/run/whatever I've never seen any homeowner actually working their yard. I see many lawn services doing it, however, but never the residents.

The people living in these homes rarely see the lush garden they have created and turned over to strangers to care for. Perhaps it's a visual gift for anyone passing by or the people across the street. Not unlike a gaudy and anal Christmas decorated home.

I've come to the conclusion that each lawn is a presentation of neighborhood conformity. And, I wish my lawn could at least be as healthy-looking as these.

Headscratcher:
Oh, and when I lived in south Florida, where it rains almost every day in the summer, we could only water twice a week. Here in the "dry" desert there seems to be no water restrictions. Go figure.

The Swine Flu

Funny thing about history repeating itself. I can remember back in the 1970s. First, gas prices went through the roof, then the economy tanked and the housing market went down the tubes -- just like now.

Then, just like now, the Swine Flu appeared and there was panic. Flu shots became available and they gave you a T-shirt if you were injected. A good many of those people died with their T-shirts on -- not from the Flu, but from the vaccine!

And don't forget, back then, we were still under the threat of those nasty "Killer Bees." Also a no-show. But I hear they're still "on their way."

Anyway... I knew a lot of people back then and none of them got the S.Flu, nor did any of them know anyone that did.

I'm still trying to figure out the scenario of the economy/flu thing.
And why do all the talking heads on the 'scare box' keep trying to frighten us with phony concerns?

But just be cautious: (it can't hurt)
1. Don't touch public door handles -- open with your foot or elbow. That goes for hand rails too.
2. Keep your hands out of your mouth, eyes and ears.
3. Drink lots of water.
4. Wash your hands more often.
And, Pass the sweet and sour pork please.

Sick joke of the day:
Recently I was asked to play in a golf outing.
At first I said, “Naaahhh….”
Then they said to me, “Come on, it’s for handicapped and blind kids.”
Then I thought ...
HELL — I could win this thing!

I've had it with Facebook!
...or Facebook, Myspace, Twitter suck!
What's with this silly service? It's really just a blog for people who can't write or express themselves but can take snapshots of themselves with distorted facial expressions like we all did at age six.

The only thing that attracts people to build a "My-twit-face" page, is that you can create a self-glorifying altar to yourself and force your "friends" to look at the misunderstood, angry malcontent that you present yourself as... Or the bubble-brained, friend collecting, drunk, party animal who's ready to snap any second. Haven't these people ever taken any psychology courses? You can read these twits like a book.

My advise... Learn how to write and take photos of interesting things and places. Document your life as it really is. And while you're at it, try not to look like such a conceited douchebag.

Or... be a video blogger.

Was Seinfeld correct...
...and the Post Office is just a redundant legacy now?

Should we just let it fade away, or should we subsidize it with more tax dollars so i can keep getting my useless coupon clipper packs, political election garbage, and various catalogs for crappy helmet companies.

I pay all my bills online and correspond with people electronically. My home phone is an equally useless tool, but the wife wants it as a redundancy.

Does the post office still provide a necessary function in today's email and FedEx environment?

Barack Obama

Obama. I didn't vote for him. I'm a "protest voter" who almost always picks the underdog (Ron Paul, Bob Barr, etc.) who offers actual "change." After eight years of Bush, who was really a closet democrat compared to Ronald Reagan, our government grew in every area but regulation. Bill Clinton got the ball rolling and the Bush administration said, "you ain't seen nutten Buba... wait 'till you see a Republican with the check book." Bush's spending seems mild now that the checkbook's in Obama's pocket.
Anyway, if Obama is the real deal/new deal socialist he would like to be, it could be the final nail in the coffin for the American system as we "knew" it. And it will be hard to return it. Thanks W.

BANNED from TV! On Tucker Carlson

In March 2008 Carlson was removed from MSNBC, but not fired. He is now the host of an "online" show and MSNBC are still paying him to hang around (keeping him from taking offers from FOX or CNN).
In my estimation Carlson's views made too much sense to have him disrupting things during the elections, so biased MSNBC basically buried him for a while. His association and endorsement of Ron Paul is probably the biggest reason. And, to confuse things even more... have you noticed that talented lefty, Bill Maher has always leaned toward conservative, Ron Paul? (See video below)

Tucker Carlson's partisan ambivalence

Carlson says, "I care deeply about conservative ideas, I do not care about the success or failure of any political party. In addition, my definitions of conservative views often go against the mainstream right-wing and left-wing opinion."

"I have stated that (former) President George W. Bush is not a true conservative. Despite his general reputation as a political conservative, this and other views have been interpreted as partisan ambivalence by some Republican political figures and movement conservatives."

In an August 27, 2004 Washington Post interview, Tucker Carlson expressed his "displeasure with Bush." "Why do so many anti-war liberals give Kerry a pass when he adopts the Bush view on Iraq, as he has? The amount of team-playing on the left depresses me." Carlson did not vote in the 2004 election, citing his disgust with the Iraq war and his disillusionment with the once small-government Republican party.

"I don't know what you consider conservative," Carlson said, "but I'm not much of a liberal, at least as the word is currently defined. For instance, I'm utterly opposed to abortion, which I think is horrible and cruel. I think affirmative action is wrong. I'd like to slow immigration pretty dramatically. I hate all nanny state regulations, such as seat belt laws and smoking bans. I'm not for big government. I think the U.S. ought to hesitate before intervening abroad. I think these are conservative impulses. So by my criteria, Bush isn't much of a conservative."

Conservative Republicans have accused Carlson of not being sufficiently conservative. This first began following Carlson's public and private endorsement of 2000 Presidential candidate John McCain. Speaking to Salon.com, Carlson responded: "I liked McCain. And I would have voted for McCain for president happily, not because I agree with his politics; I never took McCain's politics seriously enough even to have strong feelings about them. I don't think McCain has very strong politics. He's interested in ideas almost as little as George W. Bush is. McCain isn't intellectual, and doesn't have a strong ideology at all. He's wound up sort of as a liberal Republican because he's mad at other Republicans, not because he's a liberal."

Supporting, then opposing the U.S. war in Iraq

Carlson initially supported the U.S. war with Iraq during its first year. After a year, he began criticizing the war, telling the New York Observer: "I think it’s a total nightmare and disaster, and I’m ashamed that I went against my own instincts in supporting it. It’s something I’ll never do again. Never. I got convinced by a friend of mine who’s smarter than I am, and I shouldn’t have done that. I want things to work out, but I’m enraged by it, actually."

Beyond the bailouts
I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in uniform are profound. No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11.

Well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million.

If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable.

Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18 When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt.

Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families know the dangers.

We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well.

You see where this is going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine i s in combat in the Middle East while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing make sense?

However, our own U.S. Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now equal to being millionaires plus. If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month.

I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting.

Hello all,

I had to tell you ... because I'm bewildered. I'm watching the Olympic woman's volleyball. Cuba against China. The American commentators are embarrassingly in the tank for China -- fawning and glowing over the Chinese team ... to the level of seeming to cheer every time China makes a point.

China leaped ahead two sets to 1 and were ahead in the final set. Commentators drooling over every Chinese point, making excuses for Chinese errors, expressing how lucky Cuba was when they made a good play against this magnificent China team. Disgusting.

Then Cuba comes back with brilliant play, terrific teamwork, and the commentators grow silent. It was painful for them to have to call the play and compliment Cuba. "Can you believe it!?," one said.

Cuba comes back and ties the series 2 to 2, then plays a fantastic final set to beat the Chinese, 3-2. A few words are spoken, the crowd is quiet, the program immediately shifts to men's wrestling.

Is this how it works in American politics, as well? I think so. The media has taken on a paternal, elitist role that must be neutralized. I heard a media 'guru' repeat it yesterday: "It isn't news until we say it is!"

Headline last summer 2008:
Unemployment Rate Hits 5.5%; Payrolls Shrink for Fifth Month

Employers shed 49,000 nonfarm jobs last month, and the jobless rate’s surprising half-point surge signaled continuing weakness in the economy.

Me again:
Of course, the silver lining that is not emphasized is that 49,000 vs. 60,000 is 18% fewer jobs lost than expected. Considering there are fewer housing starts this year, added to the normal and anticipated .3 to .5 percent annual drop in jobs most every May, this so-called "surprising" news could be served up as a good sign, and not a sign that the current administration is failing further.

My theory about the Republicans, who are said to be constantly 'campaigning' while in power (basis of former Bush Press Secretary Scott McClellan's new Bush-bashing book), is that it is their way of pushing back at the liberal media's artistic manipulation of the facts, i.e; It's not what you say, but how you say it.

Anyway, super-exciting times we're living in. Airfares up over 300%, fuel going up 300%, GREAT!

Perhaps now we'll all settle down a bit and get to know one another better. Europe has had very expensive fuel for decades, and anthropologists and experts who gauge these things agree that, overall, Europeans have a far better quality of life than we do in the US.

Something to think about.

What say I move up, build a small farm house back in the woods, and tend to the vegetable gardens. We can get money from neighbors to NOT have dog kennels and cows, too. Think there's any oil under North Carolina?

Business is so slow everywhere, in every sector, because the general public is reacting to all the bad news that's manufactured by the politicians, the pundits, and the media. The liberal media wants to scare everybody to death so they'll vote democratic. Happens every time there's an election.

First it was repeating over and over that the booming housing market was a bubble waiting to burst -- and so everybody panicked and sure enough, like a string of dominos, it fell over. Gullible people will do things they know they shouldn't do, just because they can; like buying an expensive house they can't afford with no money down and little payments FOR A YEAR! Like, now the monthly payments are going UP? What happened, they ask!? So stupid. Now the American tax payers are going to bail them out?

Yes, Gas is expensive, but everybody is driving just as much, but blame the whole economy slump on fuel prices. Economic situation isn't that bad, really. 96 or 97% of all homeowners are making their mortgage payments just fine. Inflated housing prices drop down and people freak out because that free money is not there right now. It will come back. But they shouldn't have borrowed so much on that volatile "equity" in the first place (Like I had to do!).

Today's observation:
Today is one day that The New York Times, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC ... have revealed their bias favoring the democrat party (and there's nothing wrong with that!). I have been watching and listening all day, every minute, channel-skipping to follow the so-called McCain affair-scandal story concerning the THEN 40-year old lobbyist Vicky Eiseman (now 48).

In NO case, not ONE time, not ONE reporter or pundit for the networks mentioned that this heaving, sweat-drenched, passionate, crazed sex was supposed to have occurred EIGHT years ago, before the 2000 election! It was obvious to me that the 'reporters' wanted the viewer to think that it is a very recent event, and that it might STILL be going on. Someone tuning in would have NO reason to believe it was not last week, and not eight years ago.

By the way, republican-biased FOX News was covering the rioting mobs in Belgrade. Smart.

Isn't this fun?

Brother, Larry

PS: The NY Times had to print the story prematurely so the New Republic magazine couldn't 'scoop' them.
